Job summary

Pertemps Gloucester is seeking a hands-on Retail Sales & Weighbridge Supervisor in Gloucester. The role covers daily sales activities and weighbridge operations with a strong focus on customer service, accuracy and operational efficiency.

The position is full-time, permanent with a salary of £35,000 - £38,000 depending on experience. Working hours are Monday to Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm, plus two Saturday mornings per month 8:00am - 12:00pm, with ongoing training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in supervisory roles in customer-facing settings such as retail, depot, or trade counter.
• Confident dealing directly with customers and delivering a high level of service.
• Commercially minded with ability to identify sales and upselling opportunities.
• Strong communication skills with customers, drivers, colleagues and external partners.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proactive, reliable and capable of taking ownership of day-to-day responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily retail and counter sales activities, providing excellent customer service.
• Manage weighbridge operations and accurately record vehicle weights and transactions.
• Maintain accurate weighbridge records and operational logs.
• Assist customers with product inquiries and provide knowledgeable advice.
• Identify opportunities to upsell products and maximise sales.
• Coordinate deliveries and collections with customers, drivers and the wider team.
• Plan deliveries and support smooth day-to-day running of the sales operation.
• Communicate professionally with customers, drivers, colleagues and external partners.
• Organise daily schedules and meet operational deadlines.
• Work with the wider team to maintain safe and efficient operations.
