Job description

We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Retail Technology Team at Greggs as a Retail Technology Product Analyst, as we continue to use technology to make our in-shop operations easier and more efficient for our colleagues.

About the role
  • This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered
  • We know that having a work-life balance is important, so we offer our colleagues as much flexibility as possible in line with the needs of their role
  • The base location for this role isGreggs House, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE12 8BU.Ideally, you’ll live within one hour travel of this area
What you'll do
  • Support the Retail Technology Product Owner throughout the product lifecycle — from feature ideation and requirement gathering to user story creation, prioritisation, implementation, and post-launch analysis
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across departments, shop teams, and the Retail Technology Design Team to gather and document feature requirements, ensuring detailed user stories and acceptance criteria guide the development process
  • Conduct comprehensive data analysis on product performance and user behaviour pre and post launch , delivering actionable insights to the wider Retail Technology team to support data-driven decision making
  • Work closely with the Product Designer to shape the design of new features and components
  • Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives, supporting with documentation, administration, and standing in for the Retail Technology Product Owner when required
  • Manage the product backlog day-to-day—ensuring it is well-organised, detailed, and up to date—while resolving queries and clarifying requirements for the development team
  • Assist in triaging bugs, defects, and enhancement opportunities, balancing user impact with roadmap priorities
  • Play a key role in discovery and scoping activities, including workshops and user research, to define and validate requirements
  • Act as a super user for your product area
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies to help shape the strategic vision and maintain product relevance
About you

  • Possess excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organisation
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly present ideas, findings, and recommendations to cross-functional teams
  • Exhibit a collaborative approach, enjoying being part of a hard-working team that shares goals and celebrates success together
  • Possess advanced IT skills, including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Have experience with workflow management tools such as Azure DevOps (desirable).
  • Have experience in process and user journey mapping
  • Can work independently and as part of a team, remaining calm under pressure and focused on continuous improvement
  • Maintain an awareness of and enthusiasm for the latest digital, data, and technology trends
  • Show a positive, hands-on style and a desire to contribute to a creative, inclusive, and adaptive digital environment
  • Have knowledge or experience of Greggs Retail operations and procedures (desirable)
