The National Trust is seeking a part-time shop assistant for a festive-season role in Manchester. You will provide excellent customer service, help create appealing displays, and ensure the shop floor is tidy and welcoming.
The role requires 15 hours per week with availability on busy festive dates such as Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day. Applicants should be team players who can also work on their own initiative, be well-organised, and eager to learn new skills.
Working Hours: You'll work 15 hours per week. Because this is a seasonal role, availability during our busiest festive dates is really important. You should therefore be available to work key dates across Christmas and New Year, including Christmas Eve, Boxing Day and New Year's Day, as required. You'll also be able to talk to them about how everything they buy helps to fund the work of the National Trust. Other duties may include arranging, receiving and unpacking deliveries, creating shop displays and working with others in the team to keep the shop floor clean and organised.
We'd love to hear from you if you're:
Christmas is one of the most exciting and atmospheric times of year at Dunham Massey. As the property comes alive for the festive season and Christmas lights, our shop becomes particularly busy, welcoming visitors throughout the day and into the evening. Our main shop will have extended opening hours alongside the Christmas lights, remaining open until 8.30pm. The property is also open across the Christmas period, closing only on Christmas Day.
The National Trust has the motto 'For everyone, for ever' at its heart. We're working hard to create an inclusive culture, where everyone feels they belong. It's important that our people reflect and represent the diversity of the communities and audiences we serve. We welcome and value difference, so when we say we're for everyone, we want everyone to be welcome in our teams too.
