The National Trust is seeking a Retail Team Member for the shop at Sizergh, Kendal. You will welcome visitors, answer questions and help them enjoy their day, while maintaining the shop’s presentation and providing excellent service.
You will also discuss how purchases fund the Trust’s work and assist with deliveries and displays. The role requires a proactive team player who can work weekends, with some late-night duties during events.
We're looking for a Retail Team Member to welcome visitors to the National Trust shop at Sizergh, answer their questions and help them make the most of their day.
Salary: £12.75 per hour
Contract Duration: Fixed term until 31st January 2027
Working Pattern: You'll work 6 hours per week, mainly at weekends, with some late-night working during our Winter @ Sizergh event.
Proposed Start Date: 2nd November 2026

As a member of the retail team, you'll be offering visitors help and advice with our visitors' shopping. You'll maintain high standards of presentation in the shop, while providing excellent service to all customers.
You'll also be able to talk to visitors about how everything they buy helps to fund the work of the National Trust. Other duties may include arranging, receiving and unpacking deliveries, creating shop displays and working with others in the team to keep the shop floor clean and organised.
