Job summary

The National Trust is seeking a Retail Team Member to welcome visitors to the Anglesey Abbey shop, answer questions and help guests enjoy their day. You’ll work in a friendly team, maintain a clean, well-presented shop, and explain how purchases support the charity.

The role is a fixed-term contract until 30 April 2027 with a zero-hour pattern; weekend and bank holiday work required. An online assessment replaces a CV, and training will be provided.

Summary

We’re looking for a Retail Team Member to welcome visitors to the National Trust shop at Anglesey Abbey, to answer their questions and help them make the most of their day.

Salary: £12.75 per hour

Contract/duration: Fixed term contract until 30th April 2027

Interview dates: 24th September 2026

Hours/working pattern: This is a zero-hour contract, meaning we can’t guarantee a set number of hours each week. While we aim to provide a consistent work pattern, flexibility is needed as schedules may change based on business needs. We’ll try to give as much notice as possible. The role includes weekends and Bank Holidays but does not require evening or split shifts.

For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.

What You'll Be Doing

As a member of the retail team, you’ll be offering visitors help and advice with their shopping. You’ll have high standards of presentation in the shop while providing excellent service to all customers.

You’ll also be able to talk to them about how everything they buy helps to fund the work of the National Trust. Other duties may include arranging, receiving and unpacking deliveries, creating shop displays and working with others in the team to keep the shop floor clean and organised.
