Job summary

Rose Communications Group is seeking a Retail Team Leader for the RCUK Retail Team in Salford. You will oversee in-store sales, support customers, and coach staff to achieve targets while maintaining excellent service.

The ideal candidate has proven leadership experience in retail, strong organisational and communication skills, and a customer-first mindset. The role is full-time with a 6-month probationary period, based at our Salford branch.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Retail Team Leader or Supervisor role.
• Strong leadership and team motivation skills.
• Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
• Customer-focused with high service standards.
• Able to multitask and stay calm under pressure.
• Maintain confidentiality and data security.
• Good IT skills, especially Word and Excel.
• Experience with retail management or customer service training is a plus (not essential).

Title: Retail Team Leader, RCUK Retail Team Location: RCUK, 49 Leicester Rd, Salford Manchester, M7 4AS Contractual Status: Full Time Probationary Period: 6 months

RCUK was established in 1999 as a phone and device rental business. Today we’re a dynamic company offering bespoke communication solutions for both businesses and consumers, with a B2B team who travel across the UK to clients and three retail branches in London and Manchester.

As a Retail Team Leader, you will be responsible for all retail sales activities from the time a client enters the branch to closing the sale, as well as customer mobile support throughout the contract term. The successful candidate will be able to elevate company standards and provide excellent customer service. You will work closely with RCUK’s Head of Retail and Head of Product to ensure all retail staff across the branch are trained on product specifications and confident in their selling capabilities for these products to the end user.

Overview of Key Responsibilities, Tasks and Activities:

• Engage with customers to understand their requirements and recommend suitable products and services.
• Provide accurate product information and advice in-store, via email, and over the phone.
• Support customers in making informed purchase decisions by building trust, offering suggestions, and promoting relevant cross‑sell and upsell opportunities.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all products, services, and promotional offerings.
• Monitor and manage stock levels to ensure product availability.
• Ensure the branch is consistently well-presented, organised, and compliant with security standards.
• Deliver exceptional customer service at all times, acting as a role model for the wider team.
• Proactively identify opportunities to increase sales while maintaining a customer-first approach.
• Handle customers’ devices with the highest levels of confidentiality and data security, particularly during data transfers.
• Support the overall performance of the team by assisting with training, coaching, and daily task coordination.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Proven experience in a Retail Team Leader/Supervisor
• Strong leadership qualities with the ability to inspire, motivate, and support a team.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan, prioritise, and delegate tasks effectively.
• Customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering high-quality service.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced retail environment.
