Job summary

JD Sports in the United Kingdom seeks an Assistant Manager to join our fast-paced retail team. You will support the Store Manager, drive performance, and develop a high-performing team to deliver the premium JD experience.

You will lead on-shop floor operations, coach colleagues, and ensure excellent customer service while hitting sales targets and maintaining JD standards in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail management or supervisory roles (e.g., Assistant Store Manager, Supervisor).
• Strong leadership to guide and motivate staff and uphold store priorities.
• Ability to interpret KPI and sales data to support decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for professional customer interactions.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager with daily store operations to help achieve sales targets and core KPIs.
• Lead and guide colleagues on the shop floor, allocate tasks, support service delivery, and maintain JD standards.
• Assist with coaching and development, providing real-time feedback and reinforcing expectations from the Store Manager.
• Maintain JD’s high presentation and operational standards, including pricing accuracy and safety.
• Carry out core duties such as cash handling, till checks, stock audits, and opening/closing routines.
