Job summary

JD Sports is seeking an Assistant Manager to work with the Store Manager to drive results, develop talent, and elevate the customer experience, ensuring the store delivers the premium JD standard every day.

You will lead the team on shift, coach performance, monitor KPI performance, and uphold JD’s high presentation and customer service standards in a fast-paced retail environment. This role offers growth within a globally recognised brand and a supportive leadership team.

Qualifications

• Previous retail management or supervisory experience (Assistant Store Manager or Supervisor).
• Strong leadership to guide, develop, and motivate staff while upholding store priorities.
• Ability to interpret KPI and sales data for commercial decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for professional customer interactions.
• Proven track record in driving sales and KPI achievement in retail.

Responsibilities

• Support Store Manager with daily store operations to achieve sales targets and KPIs.
• Lead and guide colleagues on the shop floor, allocate tasks, and maintain JD standards.
• Coach and develop staff with real-time feedback and clear expectations from the Store Manager.
• Maintain JD presentation and operational standards, including pricing accuracy and displays.
• Carry out core duties like till checks, stock audits, opening/closing routines, escalating issues when needed.
