Job summary

John Lewis plc is seeking a mid-weight designer to plan and deliver commercial and operational designs for all John Lewis formats, aligned with JL&P brand guidelines. Based in our London Head Office, you’ll work on store interior architecture with a focus on customer journey and shopping experience.

The role offers hybrid working and a night premium for after-hours work. Salary up to £72,000 depending on experience, fixed-term until May 2027.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in store planning, interiors design and/or a design practice.
• Excellent AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch Up, 3d visualisation and hand sketching ability.
• A passion for design and attention to detail.
• Excellent creative problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects at different stages of development

Responsibilities

• Create and develop store plans and design solutions for store interior architecture across all John Lewis customer facing areas.
• Agree project timescales are adhered to and quality designs are signed off at the right time and by the right people.
• Work closely with all key stakeholders in the development of the brief, the concept design, block and detailed store plans.
• Actively support and contribute to a portfolio of projects or several departments simultaneously.
• Set up stakeholder meetings, communicate and agree when briefs are not hit to internal and external stakeholders.
• Invest in personal and professional development to achieve potential.
• Engage with and contribute to the design profession and change initiatives.
