Job summary

Cancer Research UK’s Southport Superstore is hiring a part-time Shop Assistant. You will be the face of our charity, delivering excellent customer service, helping with fundraising efforts, and supporting store operations on a 16-hour weekly rota.

You’ll work as part of a friendly team to promote our brand and cause. The role requires a proactive approach, good communication, and the ability to manage tasks and work independently when needed.

Qualifications

• Eligible to work in the UK and aged 18 or over.
• Experience in a busy customer service environment is desirable.
• Able to manage own workload and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Providing excellent customer and supporter service.
• Achieving ambitious sales and fundraising targets as part of the shop team.
• Maintaining shop standards including visual presentation and health & safety.
• Building relationships with local community and Cancer Research UK colleagues.
• Supporting fundraising events to hit targets.
• Taking keyholder responsibility as required.
• Handling manual tasks and physical activity as part of daily duties.

About the role

We’re looking for a motivated store assistant to join Cancer Research UK’s trading team. You’ll be acting as an ambassador for Cancer Research UK. Your shop will be a place where your community gets to meet our people, understand our brand, and see some of the great things we do. You’ll also be surrounded by people who are as dedicated to beating cancer as you are.

What will I be doing?

• Providing excellent customer and supporter service.
• Working as an integral part of the shop team to achieve ambitious sales and fundraising targets.
• Assisting with maintaining shop standards including visual presentation, safeguarding compliance and health and safety.
• Creating relationships with your local community and Cancer Research UK colleagues.
• Supporting fundraising events for your store to achieve fundraising targets.
• Taking keyholder responsibility as required (training provided).
• There will be a varied amount of manual handling and physical activity required within the day-to-day duties of the role.
