Job summary

Cancer Research UK is seeking a motivated Store Manager to lead a busy Hammersmith shop and act as an ambassador for the charity. You will inspire a team of paid staff and volunteers, maximise sales and fundraising opportunities, and drive engagement in a vibrant retail location near the River Thames.

Located in a major retail hub, the role offers a challenging environment with opportunities to develop skills, lead by example, and support the charitys mission to beat cancer.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing and inspiring a diverse team.
• Comfort working within targets and achieving them.

• Excellent customer and supporter service skills.

Responsibilities

• Guide, inspire and engage a team of paid staff and volunteers, including recruitment and development.
• Own the commercial running of the store: display, merchandising, stock, standards, layout, sales and income.
• Lead by example with excellent customer and supporter service.
• Maximise profit through cost control and sales.
• Build relationships with local community and Cancer Research UK colleagues.
• Organise and run fundraising events to meet targets.
• Maintain health & safety, safeguarding, security and HR policies.
• Handle manual handling and physical tasks as required.

What will I be doing?

• Guiding, inspiring and engaging a team of paid staff and volunteers. This includes recruitment, retention and development of a diverse shop team.
• Taking ownership and responsibility for commercial running of your store including display and merchandising, stock management, maintaining shop standards, store layout, sales and income.
• Leading by example and providing excellent customer and supporter service.
• Maximising profit through effective cost control and sales.
• Creating relationships with your local community and Cancer Research UK colleagues.
• Organising and running creative fundraising events for your store to achieve fundraising targets.
• Maintaining compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, security, administration and HR policies.
• There will be a varied amount of manual handling and physical activity required within the day-to-day duties of the role.
