Job summary

Cancer Research UK’s trading team is looking for a motivated Retail Store Assistant to join our Chelsea shop. You will be the face of our charity, delivering excellent customer and supporter service, helping to drive sales and fundraising, and representing the CRUK brand with pride. This is a permanent, part-time role of 15 hours per week across two days.

The salary is £13.65 per hour plus benefits. You will report to the Shop Manager, work as part of a small team, assist with shop standards,

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy customer service environment.
• Ability to manage workload and work independently when required.
• Strong communication skills.
• Flexibility due to rota-based shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer and supporter service.
• Work as part of the shop team to meet sales and fundraising targets.
• Maintain shop standards including visual presentation, safeguarding, and health and safety.
• Create relationships with your local community and Cancer Research UK colleagues.
• Support fundraising events to achieve fundraising targets.
• Take keyholder responsibility as required (training provided).
• There will be a varied amount of manual handling and physical activity required within the day-to-day duties of the role.

What will I be doing?

• Providing excellent customer and supporter service.
• Working as an integral part of the shop team to achieve ambitious sales and fundraising targets.
• Assisting with maintaining shop standards including visual presentation, safeguarding compliance and health and safety.
• Creating relationships with your local community and Cancer Research UK colleagues.
• Supporting fundraising events for your store to achieve fundraising targets.
• Taking keyholder responsibility as required (training provided).
• There will be a varied amount of manual handling and physical activity required within the day-to-day duties of the role.

What are you looking for?

• An understanding of what makes great customer service.
• Experience of working in a busy customer service environment.
• The ability to manage your own workload and work independently when required.
• The ability to work well in a team.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Flexibility, our retail teams cover the needs of their stores by working on a rota basis. Whilst a level of flexibility is needed to meet the needs of the business, we don’t forget that you have a life outside of work too.
