Job summary

B&M Retail in Portishead is seeking a confident and professional Retail Security Officer to safeguard people, products and store environments while delivering a welcoming customer experience. This full-time, permanent role offers flexibility to cover daytime, evening and weekend shifts across multiple nearby stores.

You will work closely with the Store Management Team to prevent loss, manage risk and uphold high safety and professionalism standards.

Are you a confident and professional Retail Security Officer? Do you enjoy safeguarding people, products, and store environments while delivering a welcoming customer experience?Join our team in Portishead and other B&M surrounding stores to make a real difference!In this role, you’ll be trusted with responsibility and play a vital role in safeguarding the store. Working closely with the Store Management Team, you’ll help prevent loss, manage risk and maintain high standards of safety and professionalism. This is a full-time, permanent role with flexibility to work across daytime, evening and weekend shifts - ideal for someone who enjoys variety, responsibility and being an integral part of the store team.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Actively monitoring the store to identify, prevent and report incidents
• Operating and reviewing CCTV systems in line with company policies
• Supporting the enforcement of Health & Safety procedures
• Conducting investigations into stock loss, theft and fraud
• Engaging with customers and colleagues to resolve situations calmly and effectively
