Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a confident Retail Security Officer to protect people and property on the shop floor, deter theft and create a safe shopping experience. The role offers flexible shifts discussed at interview and guaranteed contracted hours.

You will receive paid lunch breaks, uniform, induction and ongoing training, with opportunities to support policing partnerships and security measures across the store environment.

Qualifications

• A valid SIA licence (or willingness to complete the training)
• A full 5-year checkable employment or education history (essential for vetting)
• Proactive, professional and customer-focused approach

Responsibilities

• Providing a visible, reassuring presence on the shop floor
• Delivering outstanding customer service at all times
• Deterring theft, anti-social behaviour and public order offences
• Carrying out regular store patrols
• Operating CCTV systems to reduce crime and stock loss
• Working closely with store management teams
• Supporting partnerships with Police and local crime networks
• Using Body Worn CCTV to enhance safety for everyone onsite
