Job summary

TSS is seeking a Retail Security Officer in Eastbourne to provide a visible uniformed deterrent and ensure the safety of staff and customers. The role requires carrying out loss prevention and reporting incidents using our systems.

You will be 18+, have an SIA SG/DS licence, and be tech‑savvy to use digital devices. The position offers varied shifts, comprehensive induction, and ongoing on‑site training within a global security solutions leader.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide a visible uniformed deterrent and ensure the safety of staff and premises.
• Enforce company policy on loss prevention and safeguard staff and visitors.
• Deter potential troublemakers on site.
• Observe and report incidents using approved systems.
• Follow client or manager instructions and complete duties.
• Keep site knowledge up to date and identify local developments.
• Understand and implement fire and safety evacuation procedures.
• Assist with staff and contractor searches as required.
• Maintain a clean and tidy security base.
• Present yourself professionally and display the SIA licence.

Position: Retail Security Officer

Location: Eastbourne

Pay Rate: £14.10 per hour

Hours: Various

SG / DS SIA licence required.

Your Time at Work

• Provide a visible uniformed deterrent, contribute to the safety and security of the client’s premises and staff
• Carry out Company Policy on loss prevention and ensure the safety of staff and visitors
• Lawfully deter potential troublemakers on site
• Observe and report incidents using the correct reporting systems
• Carry out all duties assigned by the client or manager to whom you are responsible
• Ensure site knowledge is kept up to date and developments at local level are identified
• Understand and implement any Fire and Safety evacuation procedures
• Assist, if required by the Client, with staff and contractor searches
• Ensure that the Security base is always maintained in a clean and tidy condition
• Conduct yourself, at all times, in a manner which will bring credit to yourself and the Company, ensuring full uniform is worn and SIA licence is clearly displayed
