Job summary

Bayne’s the Family Bakers in Kirkcaldy is recruiting a Retail Sales Assistant for the NEW Kingdom Park South shop. Shifts vary week to week, including weekends, typically 4 days from 7, with 16 hours per week and potential extra hours.\n\nYou will prepare and serve bakery and food-to-go items, set up displays, handle pre-orders and payments, stock shelves, answer customer questions and keep the shop clean.

Retail Sales Assistant - NEW Kirkcaldy Shop - Kingdom Park South Retail Centre, Muirton Farm Road, Kirkcaldy, KY1 2FD

You will be given various shifts - which will change week to week and will include weekends (when rostered on), between 4:30am am and 6:30pm - any 4 days from 7.

16 hours per week (although additional hours may be available).

Up to £12.93per hour plus an excellent benefits package (see below)*

We use traditional baking methods to produce the finest, freshest, mouthwatering products which we only sell in our own Bakery Shops.

What your key responsibilities are:

• Prepare and serve customers with a range of hot and cold bakery and food to go products.
• Set up and maintain counter and window displays in line with our guidelines.
• Deal with customer pre-orders and process payment and paperwork accordingly.
• Take payment for goods using electronic tills and processing by cash and card.
• Stock shelves with products.
• Answer queries from customers.
• Give advice and guidance on products to customers.
• Report discrepancies and problems to the management team.
• Cleaning of shop & facilities.

Ideally you will have:

• Previous food retailing experience / Food to Go.
• Great communication skills.
• A positive attitude, we’ll need you be resilient.
• Cash handling experience / working touch screen tills (don’t worry, we’ll teach you).
