Job summary

Bayne’s the Family Bakers in Glasgow is hiring a part-time Retail Sales Assistant for the Saracen Street Shop. The role covers 16 hours a week across 4 days from 7, with shifts including early mornings and weekends, serving customers and upholding product displays.

Pay is up to £12.93 per hour plus an excellent benefits package. You’ll need great communication, be flexible, and keen to deliver friendly, efficient service that reflects our values.

Qualifications

• Experience in food retail or food-to-go.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Reliable, positive attitude and resilience.
• Cash handling experience with touch screen tills.
• Willing to work weekends and 4 days from 7.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve customers with bakery and food-to-go products.
• Set up and maintain counter displays per guidelines.
• Process pre-orders and payments with tills.
• Take payment by cash or card.
• Stock shelves with products.
• Answer customer queries.
• Give product advice and guidance.
• Report issues to management.
• Clean shop and facilities.

Retail Sales Assistant - Saracen Street Shop

Shifts change week to week and include weekends when rostered. Working between 4:30am and 6pm, on any 4 days from 7.

16 hours per week (additional hours may be available).

Pay: Up to £12.93 per hour plus an excellent benefits package.*

We use traditional baking methods to produce the finest, freshest, mouthwatering products which we only sell in our own Bakery Shops. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve customers with a range of hot and cold bakery and food-to-go products.
• Set up and maintain counter and window displays in line with our guidelines.
• Deal with customer pre-orders and process payment and paperwork accordingly.
• Take payment for goods using electronic tills and processing by cash and card.
• Stock shelves with products.
• Answer queries from customers.
• Give advice and guidance on products to customers.
• Report discrepancies and problems to the management team.
• Cleaning of shop & facilities.

Ideal Qualifications

• Previous food retailing experience / Food to Go.
• Great communication skills.
• Positive attitude, must be resilient.
• Cash handling experience / working touch screen tills (we’ll teach you).
• Flexible with hours; available to work between Monday to Sunday any 4 days from 7.
