About us

This Science Museum Group is here to inspire futures. We aim to grow visitors Science Capital and engagement with Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.

As part of this group, the Science and Industry Museum (Manchester) continues the audience journey by providing a seamless experience into one of its varied retail outlets.

We are looking for a Retail Sales Advisor to join our friendly, supportive, and highly motivated team based at the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester. This is a part-time role, working 15 hours per week, primarily at weekends.

About the role

As a Retail Sales Advisor you will help maximise sales and profit through actively approaching and assisting customers in finding and purchasing merchandise. You will take responsibility for specific areas of the store's operation, keeping visual merchandising and housekeeping at the highest standard.

You will create an environment in which customers feel welcome and comfortable, with the aim of working towards sales targets set by management to achieve set budgets and targets and building upon current team KPIS. You will look after replenishing stock and assisting with monthly and annual stock takes.

About you

Joining us you have exceptional customer service skills and the ability to deliver product knowledge in a customer focused environment. You will be able to work well as part of a diverse team and work towards, meet and exceed targets.

Crucially, you will have good communication skills with the ability to convey information (including product knowledge) to a wide range of people. You will have a proactive approach in improving your own knowledge and skills and learn from experienced colleagues.

Don't feel you meet all the criteria? We welcome you to apply even if your experience doesn't match directly. With your transferable skills, you could be the right candidate for this, or other opportunities that we have.
