Job summary

Harding is seeking an experienced Mandarin-speaking Retail Manager to lead an onboard retail team and drive guest service and sales performance. You will manage events, training, and client outreach while maintaining top-tier standards at sea.

The role requires proven retail leadership, Mandarin fluency, and the ability to perform under pressure on a cruise environment. Accommodation and meals are provided onboard, with contracts up to six months at a time.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Retail Manager or Assistant Manager (ideally with experience at sea).
• Fluent in Mandarin with confident guest/colleague communication.
• Motivated to lead a team to achieve and exceed sales targets.
• Excellent face-to-face customer service and sales ability.
• Proven ability in public speaking and showcasing luxury items.
• Adaptable to change and able to work in a high-pressure environment.
• Strong leader and team player, commercially driven and goal oriented.
• Competent in store and HR processes including sales reports, loss prevention, audits, appraisals, disciplinaries.

Responsibilities

What you will be doing:

• Leading a team in creating an exceptional and memorable retail experience for the guests on board
• Leading and inspiring the team to provide exceptional customer service, whilst delivering sales and profit targets
• Setting an example for your team by acting as a role model
• Identify and deliver training requirements within your team
• Take ownership of your client base including outreach to clients for events such as private sale, in-store events and product knowledge
• Consistently deliver the highest possible standards both on the shop floor and in back office operations

Who you are:

• Proven experience as a Retail Manager or Assistant Manager (ideally with experience at sea)
• Fluent in Mandarin, with the ability to communicate confidently with guests and colleagues
• Motivated in leading a team to achieve and exceed sales targets
• Excellent face to face customer service and sales ability, utilising strong communication and interpersonal skills
