Job summary

Catering IT Field Engineer role: deliver IT & Network installations across retail and commercial environments. You will perform site surveys, pre-site docs, cabling installation, testing and client sign-off.

Role involves working in live retail sites, often during non-standard hours, with overnight stays and travel to different sites. Experience with Cat5e/6/6a, fibre and Fluke DSX is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience installing structured cabling in live retail, commercial or public environments.
• Proven ability to pull, route and terminate Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6a copper cabling.
• Experience with fibre optic cabling including OM4/OS2; fibre splicing is a bonus.
• Familiar with Fluke DSX or equivalent certification equipment; attention to schedules/documentation.
• Knowledge of relevant cabling standards (TIA-568, ISO/IEC 11801, BS EN 50173/50174).

Responsibilities

• Install structured cabling across retail, commercial and office sites.
• Install containment, door-to-panel cable routes and hardware.
• Route and terminate copper and fibre cabling to spec.
• Test, certify and document cabling results and headroom.
• Rectify installation or testing issues and update change-control records.
• Coordinate with store managers and site teams to meet client requirements.
