Job summary

Project Start Recruitment Solutions seeks an experienced IT Field Engineer to deliver IT and network installation projects across retail and commercial environments. The role is hands‑on, including surveys, documentation, cabling, fibre and equipment installation, with testing and client sign‑offs.

Work includes live retail environments, nights and travel to regional sites; the position is a 3‑month contract with regional site work in the Southwest.

Qualifications

• IPAF – required for mobile elevated working platforms/scissor lifts
• PASMA – required for mobile access towers
• Asbestos Awareness – minimum UKATA‑approved certification, including the ability to check site asbestos registers

Responsibilities

• Install structured cabling across retail, commercial and office environments.
• Test and certify installed cabling using testing equipment and standards.
• Read technical drawings and cable schedules; liaise with Store Managers and site teams

Education

IPAF – required for MEWPs

PASMA – required for mobile access towers

Asbestos Awareness – UKATA certified

CNCI or equivalent – desirable

City & Guilds 3668 or equivalent – desirable

FIA/FOA or fibre qualification – desirable
