Job summary

The Range in Worthing is seeking an experienced Duty Manager to help run our busy store. You will oversee daily operations, lead colleagues, coach teams and ensure high standards of customer service, merchandising and health & safety.

This hands-on role requires a proactive, customer-first approach in a fast-paced retail environment, supporting opening/closing, promotions and a consistently excellent shopping experience for every customer.

Qualifications

• Previous retail supervisory, team leader or management experience.
• Passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good organisational and problem-solving ability.
• Hands-on and flexible approach.
• Confidence working in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a friendly, helpful and efficient customer experience at all times.
• Lead by example in providing excellent customer service.
• Support effective queue management and customer flow during busy periods.
• Resolve customer queries and complaints professionally.
• Promote a positive and engaging in-store experience.
• Support, motivate and guide store colleagues.
• Assist with colleague training, induction and development.
• Provide coaching and performance feedback.
• Help maintain a positive, productive and collaborative working environment.
• Ensure company policies and standards are consistently followed.
• Ensure the store is clean, organised and ready for trade each day.
• Maintain high merchandising and presentation standards.
• Support promotional activity and stock availability.
• Monitor deliveries, stock movement and warehouse organisation.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures.
• Support store security procedures including cash and stock control.
• Ensure health & safety procedures are followed at all times.
• Assist with accident logs, safety records and risk assessments.
• Monitor EPOS and pricing compliance.
• Ensure operational procedures are delivered accurately and consistently.
