Job summary

Whittard of Chelsea is seeking a Retail Deputy Manager for the London area to support the Store Manager in delivering exceptional service and empowering a brilliant team. You’ll help the store run like clockwork, whether on the shop floor or reviewing daily performance with the team.

You’ll lead from the front, coach and motivate, and use data to influence daily decisions while keeping customers at the heart of every interaction.

Qualifications

• Experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within a retail environment.
• Ability to coach, motivate, and lead by example.
• Strong commercial instincts with confidence in reading reports and using data to influence daily decisions.
• Proactive mindset and willingness to take action.
• Excellent organisation and time management, juggling tasks while staying customer-focused.
• Genuine passion for creating brilliant customer experiences and sharing product knowledge with pride.

Responsibilities

• Lead from the front with customers, showcase the range, and coach the team to bring products to life through storytelling and tastings.
• Give live feedback, manage rotas, and maintain a positive, high-performing team culture.
• Read reports and use insights to spot trends and drive performance with the Store Manager.
• Ensure stock counts, deliveries, H&S compliance, and a well-presented store aligned with Whittard’s standards.
• Engage with local businesses and support marketing activity to build the store’s local reputation.
