Job summary

The Range is seeking a Deputy Manager for its Dereham store to support the Store Manager in daily operations and lead the store team on-site.

You will help with staff scheduling, training, and performance, monitor stock and merchandising, and maintain store presentation to company standards while contributing to sales targets. This role requires flexible weekend shifts and a proactive, safety-conscious approach to retail.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or customer-facing environments with strong service focus.
• Leadership and people management abilities to motivate and develop staff.
• Organizational and time-management skills for scheduling and daily tasks.
• Basic numerical and cash-handling abilities with attention to stock control and processes.
• Strong communication skills for customers and colleagues on the shop floor.
• Able to work in a fast-paced retail setting with varied shifts, including weekends/holidays.
• Previous supervisory or assistant management experience in retail or hospitality is beneficial.
• Knowledge of health and safety principles in a store environment.

Responsibilities

• Support Store Manager in daily store operations and customer service excellence.
• Assist with staff scheduling, training, and performance management.
• Monitor stock levels, merchandising displays, and store presentation to company standards.
• Contribute to achieving sales targets and ensure cash handling and compliance processes are followed.
• Act as main point of contact in the absence of the Store Manager and lead by example on the shop floor.
