Notcutts is seeking a friendly Retail Customer Service Desk Assistant to join our busy Garden Centre team in the UK. You will greet customers, answer enquiries in person, by phone and email, and support the Privilege Club while coordinating charity events.

Ideal candidates have retail or admin experience, strong communication skills, and a positive, proactive approach. The role offers a supportive environment, competitive pay, uniform, parking and career growth opportunities.

• Previous retail, customer service or administration experience is required.

• Responding to customer enquiries face-to-face, by telephone and via email
• Supporting and administering our Privilege Club, including updating customer information and processing new registrations
• Maintaining accurate records, including inputting best-before date information onto our food date-checking system
• Coordinating bookings for charity partners and fundraising events hosted at the Garden Centre
• Supporting the wider retail team as required and undertaking other administrative duties

We are looking for a Retail Customer Service Desk Assistant to join our Garden Centre team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and customer-focused individual who enjoys interacting with people and takes pride in delivering a first-class customer experience.

As the welcoming face of our Customer Service Desk, you will play a key role in ensuring every customer receives a warm, helpful and professional service. From answering enquiries and supporting our Privilege Club members to assisting with community events and fundraising activities, no two days will be the same.

Hours and Benefits

Average 18 hours per week, worked over a two-week rota:

Week 1

Monday: 10:00am - 4:30pm

Tuesday: 10:00am - 4:30pm

Week 2

Monday: 10:00am - 4:30pm

Tuesday: 10:00am - 4:30pm

Saturday: 10:00am - 4:30pm

Sunday: 10:00am - 4:30pm

About the Role

As our Customer Service Desk Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for many of our customers, ensuring they receive a positive experience from the moment they arrive.

Key responsibilities

• Remains calm and professional when managing multiple priorities in a busy setting
