Job summary

Arcus FM is hiring two part-time in-store cleaners for Sainsbury's Barnstaple on fixed-term contracts with an hourly rate of £12.71. Immediate start is available; shifts include 15 or 18 hours per week across various early morning to evening slots, with weekend work.

You will perform daily cleaning tasks to keep the store clean and safe, using cleaning equipment, cleaning toilets, wiping surfaces, and maintaining outdoor areas; on-the-job training is provided and overtime may arise.

Qualifications

Previous cleaning experience is beneficial but not essential.
An eye for detail and cleanliness.
A positive attitude to cleaning and customer service.

Responsibilities

Perform daily cleaning tasks to maintain the highest standards in our Sainsbury's stores.
Operate cleaning machinery and use mopping, vacuuming, wiping and sweeping techniques.
Clean toilets, surfaces, ceilings, windows or ovens as needed.
Maintain outdoor areas including trolley bays, leaves and debris removal.
Follow health and safety procedures at all times.

At Arcus, cleaners are a vital part of our company, and we are looking to recruit two part time In Store Cleaners based in Sainsbury's Barnstaple store on a fixed term basis, both with an hourly rate of £12.71.

Immediate start is available.

Sainsbury's stores are open 7 days a week and here at Arcus we offer various shift patterns with 5 and 6 day working available. Our shift patterns consist of early morning, morning, afternoon, and evening shifts with weekend work.

The current shift patterns for these roles are:

15 hours per week - FTC until September 2026

Sunday: 06:00 to 09:00

Monday: Day off

Tuesday: 06:00 to 09:00

Wednesday: 06:00 to 09:00

Thursday: Day off

Friday: 06:00 to 09:00

Saturday: 06:00 to 09:00

18 hours per week - FTC until February 2027

Sunday: 06:00 to 09:00

Monday: 06:00 to 09:00

Tuesday: Day off

Wednesday: 06:00 to 09:00

Thursday: 06:00 to 09:00

Friday: 06:00 to 09:00

Saturday: 06:00 to 09:00

You will also have some opportunity to increase your hours through overtime.

Arcus cleaners take pride in keeping Sainsbury's supermarkets clean and safe for its customers. Cleaners will complete daily cleaning tasks to maintain the highest standard of cleaning within our Sainsburys stores. Tasks will consist of but are not limited to:

Operating machinery
Carry out thorough cleaning activities including mopping, vacuuming, wiping, and sweeping to ensure stores are kept clean.
At times you could be in-store cleaning toilets, surfaces, ceilings, windows or even oven canopies
At other times you could be working outside keeping trolley bays clean, free of leaves and debris
Ensure all health and safety procedures are applied

Arcus will support you through full training
