Job summary

Brewers Decorator Centres seeks a knowledgeable Retail Branch Manager to lead the team at the busy Bury St Edmunds branch. The role runs 40 hours across five days, Monday to Friday with Saturday on a rota, at our new West store opened in August 2026.

You will manage a small team, uphold excellent customer service, and drive sales in a trade and retail environment. The branch offers a comprehensive benefits package and support for development, with a focus on helping colleagues succeed and grow

Qualifications

• Experience in management or supervision in a retail or related role.
• Experience developing a team.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and generating new business.
• Enthusiastic and proactive about selling with the ability to inspire staff to deliver high customer service.
• Understanding and alignment with Brewers values and customer focus.
• Ability to positively represent the Company to a wide range of customers.
• Self-motivated with initiative and able to work on own.
• Knowledge of the local area would be beneficial.

We have an exciting opportunity for a knowledgeable and motivated Retail Branch Manager to lead the team at our busy branch in Bury St Edmunds.

Our brand new Bury St Edmunds West store opened its doors in August 2026. Inside the branch you will find an impressive range of range of wallcoverings, trade and designer paints, specialist coatings and all the decorating accessories and equipment our customers needed to complete their decorating projects. Our team is extremely experienced in our industry and are always happy to give product advice to seasoned tradespeople and novice DIYers. Normal branch opening hours are Monday to Friday 7am - 5pm and Saturday 8am - 5pm.

Managing a small team you will play a vital part in helping us serve customers and keeping the branch running smoothly.

• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and drive excellence
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills, to understand and translate customer requirements into product recommendations
• Previous experience in the Decorative Industry would be an advantage not essential, as full will training will be given to the right candidate
• Approachable, possessing an open and friendly personality - happy to help both customers and colleagues
• Enjoys working and supporting a team, but can be relied upon to work as an individual at all times
• A proven track record of achieving sales targets and generating new business
• Keen to learn, develop skills, and progress within our industry
• Willing to attend training to become a Fire
