Job summary

Farmfoods Ltd. is hiring an Assistant Manager for our Hawick store. The role is a permanent full-time position (43 hours across 5 days) with weekends included. You will work closely with the shop manager to run a busy shop and deliver excellent customer service.

The ideal candidate will coach and develop a small team, ensure retail standards, and help manage costs. A strong team player with flexibility is required.

Qualifications

• A friendly, positive and hardworking approach to work.
• Able to build strong working relationships with colleagues.
• Trustworthy and reliable as part of a small team.
• Some experience as a manager, team leader or supervisor.
• To complete a Basic DBS check (England/Wales) or Disclosure Scotland check (Scotland).

Responsibilities

• Run an efficient shop and provide great service to customers.
• Develop and coach the retail team through coaching and feedback.
• Be accountable for the shop in the absence of the shop manager and ensure smooth operations.
• Motivate and guide the team to control costs including shrinkage and payroll.
• Support recruitment and induction of new team members.
