Job summary

Primark Taunton is hiring a Retail Assistant on a fixed-term contract until 02 January 2027. Part-time roles offer 8–20 hours per week with two options: 8 hours over 2 days or 20 hours over 5 days. Shifts include mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older where hours extend before 6:00am or after 11:00pm.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Able to work weekends and flexible shift patterns.
• Excellent customer service and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with sizes, styles, purchases or returns to create a great shopping experience.
• Keep shop floor, shelves and fitting rooms tidy and well presented.
• Operate tills efficiently, handle queries, voids and returns.

Pay rate: £13.00 per hour
Employment type: Fixed term contract until 02/01/2027

Contracted hours: 8 - 20 hours per week
Shift pattern: We currently have two contract opportunities available:

8 hours per week over 2 days

20 hours per week over 5 days

Full flexibility is required throughout the week including both weekends. Shifts are varied and may include mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends. Specific working hours and availability requirements will be discussed during the interview.

• You must have right to work eligibility in the UK. Please verify the contracted hours for this role if you have visa restrictions that limit the hours you can work.
• Applicants must be aged 18 or over where the role requires regular working hours before 6:00am or after 11:00pm, due to legal restrictions on the working hours of young workers.

What you’ll do

As a Retail Assistant you'll be making customers' day, every day. Here's a taste of what that looks like in action.

• Providing customers with an amazing experience as you assist them with things like sizes or styles, purchases or returns.
• Setting up a good looking shop floor with full shelves, tidy fitting rooms, and a sales floors that showcases all the latest fashions.
• Deliver a fast and friendly experience at till points, processing queries, voids and returns.
• Receiving, unpacking, and checking off new deliveries. Getting our products our onto the sales floor making sure they are correctly priced – all while making sure everything meets our high standards.
