Job summary

Sodexo Hereford County Hospital is seeking a Retail Assistant to support patient, visitor and staff experiences.

You will handle food preparation, stock management, safety and hygiene, customer engagement, tills, and ongoing development in a busy hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Background in food service within a fast-paced setting.
• Level 2 Food Safety certification is preferred.
• Strong communication abilities, effective time management, and organisational skills.
• A proactive approach to learning, self-motivation, and a collaborative spirit.

Responsibilities

• Food preparation and compliance to hospital and Sodexo standards.

What You'll Do:

• Food Preparation & Compliance: Prepare and store food items in line with Hospital and Sodexo standards, ensuring quality and safety.
• Stock Management: Receive deliveries, manage inventory, and implement stock rotation to minimize waste.
• Safety & Hygiene: Maintain a clean and safe workspace, adhering to hygiene and uniform guidelines.
• Customer Engagement: Provide outstanding service, promote our brands, and suggest additional products to enhance the customer experience.
• Transaction Handling: Operate tills accurately, manage revenue, and keep precise records.
• Continuous Development: Participate in training sessions and performance reviews to foster personal growth.

What You Bring:
