Job summary

Sodexo at Birmingham Children's Hospital is seeking a Retail Assistant to support patient and visitor experience. You will assist with food preparation, stock management, and transactions while upholding safety and service standards. This role emphasizes teamwork, adaptability, and a proactive approach in a hospital setting.

The position offers 25 hours per week at £12.71 per hour, with Sodexo benefits and opportunities for development within a supportive team environment at the Birmingham site.

Qualifications

• Experience in food service within a fast-paced setting.
• Level 2 Food Safety certification preferred.
• Strong communication abilities, effective time management and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation & Compliance: Prepare and store food items in line with Hospital and Sodexo standards, ensuring quality and safety.
• Stock Management: Receive deliveries, manage inventory, and implement stock rotation to minimize waste.
• Safety & Hygiene: Maintain a clean and safe workspace, adhering to hygiene and uniform guidelines.
• Customer Engagement: Provide outstanding service, promote our brands, and suggest additional products to enhance the customer experience.
• Transaction Handling: Operate tills accurately, manage revenue, and keep precise records.
• Continuous Development: Participate in training sessions and performance reviews to foster personal growth.
