Job summary

Sodexo at Birmingham Children's Hospital is seeking a part-time Retail Assistant to support patients, visitors, and staff with excellent service. You will handle food preparation, stock management, safety compliance, and engage customers to enhance their experience.

Daily duties include operating tills, managing revenue, and participating in ongoing training to grow within a supportive team that values wellbeing and community impact.

Qualifications

• Background in food service within a fast-paced setting.
• Level 2 Food Safety certification is preferred.
• Strong communication abilities, effective time management, and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation & Compliance: Prepare and store food items in line with Hospital and Sodexo standards, ensuring quality and safety.
• Stock Management: Receive deliveries, manage inventory, and implement stock rotation to minimize waste.
• Safety & Hygiene: Maintain a clean and safe workspace, adhering to hygiene and uniform guidelines.
• Customer Engagement: Provide outstanding service, promote our brands, and suggest additional products to enhance the customer experience.
• Transaction Handling: Operate tills accurately, manage revenue, and keep precise records.
• Continuous Development: Participate in training sessions and performance reviews to foster personal growth.
