Our Restructuring & Insolvency Service team are looking for anexperienced Senior Executive to join their established team inManchester. JobPurpose

The purpose of the role is to be a key member ofa team responsible for a portfolio of corporate insolvency engagementswith a particular focus on Administrations (“ADMs”) but also onoccasion Creditors' Voluntary Liquidations ("CVLs"). You will beproactive in progressing those cases in conjunction with the casemanager and officeholders.

Job Role

The rolewill involve the following main activities and responsibilities(working within a team which comprises on each case, the appointed IP,case manager plus others on larger cases):

• Being theprincipal contact within delegated areas of work on assigned cases anddealing with day-to-day case related matters.
• Carry outduties efficiently, thoroughly and in accordance with relevant legaland statutory obligations and the firm's procedures.
• Contribute to case progression and managing own work stream,agreeing priorities with manager, and keeping the team informed ofdevelopments.
• Preparing statutory notices, assisting withreport writing and meeting deadlines.
• Assisting with thepreparation of fee estimates, proposals and decision procedures toseek appropriate creditor approval.
• Assisting in thepreparation of additional reports to key stakeholders.
• Assisting with areas of investigation work to meet therequirements of SIP2 and CDDA and contributing to reports forsubmission to the Insolvency Service.
• Assisting inmaintaining the receipts and payments account, preparing vouchers forthe cashier team to update the case cashbook.
• Assisting inthe preparation of VAT returns, as required.
• Attendingmeetings, documenting discussion at meetings for the case file,including action points to follow up.
• Contributing to thecase strategy and preparing file notes to document key decision-makingin case strategy
• Preparing case reviews in line with thefirm's policy, highlighting action points to be followed up.
• Liaising with specialist tax teams as required and assisting withVAT, PAYE and CT compliance.
• Ensuring each case checklistand diary are kept up to date
• Dealing with creditor queriesand correspondence, logging claims received
• Assisting withcompliance regarding company records
• Assisting withprogressing asset realisations, including liaising with agents andsolicitors; and updating control schedules
• Assisting withthe marketing process when a business is offered for sale

Person Specification

• Must haveexperience of corporate insolvency work.
• Must haveexperience of using IPS and Microsoft Office programmes (orequivalent).
• CPI or ACA qualification (preferred but notessential).
• Has knowledge of the statutory requirementsAdministrations and also have an understanding of insolventliquidations.
• Has a good working knowledge of insolvencylegislation and an awareness of relevant current case law.
• Able to prepare estimated outcome statements, including aPrescribed Part calculation, where relevant.
• Able tomaintain control schedules for recording progression with e.g. ROTclaims, debtor collections.
• Has experience of producingstatutory reports in insolvency cases
• Able to work well in ateam and to work effectively under time pressure to meet strictdeadlines.
• Possesses strong organisational and timemanagement skills.
• Able to work with a high degree ofaccuracy and attention to detail.
• Able to identifycase-related issues, to independently research and suggest options toresolve.
• Keen to develop self and others.
