Restaurant Shift / Floor Manager

Key Responsibilities

As a Tim Hortons Restaurant Shift/Floor Manager, you will support the Restaurant Manager with responsibilities including:

Customer Service

  • Lead by example, prioritizing customers.
  • Maintain a customer-focused approach in all operations.
  • Accurately schedule staff to meet customer demand.
  • Support the team to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Conduct regular store walks from the customer's perspective.

People

  • Encourage staff to share suggestions and concerns.
  • Provide performance feedback, set goals, and offer support.
  • Create a positive team environment, treating all employees with dignity and respect, free from discrimination.
  • Manage performance issues in collaboration with HR.

Driving Sales

  • Understand sales trends, popular products, and peak times, adjusting strategies accordingly.
  • Ensure proper product merchandising and stock levels, supporting marketing campaigns.
  • Coach employees on upselling and suggestive selling.
  • Identify areas for improvement and motivate staff to focus on continuous improvement through incentives.

Operations

  • Monitor KPIs such as sales, staff turnover, food safety, and health & safety standards.
  • Set an example by remaining calm under pressure.
  • Manage weekly stock orders and quality checks on incoming supplies.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance and calibration schedules.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Handle opening and closing procedures.
  • Ensure cleanliness and operational standards, including food hygiene, customer experience, speed of service, and hospitality.
  • Implement and follow health and safety protocols, reporting incidents promptly to the Regional Manager.
  • Be flexible to work various shifts as part of the management team.

Key Requisites

  • Previous experience managing restaurants.
  • A flexible, disciplined approach to work.
  • Experience in a food environment is advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Commitment to high standards of food hygiene and safety.
  • Experience handling customer complaints.
  • Adherence to health and safety procedures.
