The Bamford Collection, Daylesford Organic, in the Cotswolds is seeking a Maître D' to lead the front-of-house team and deliver a memorable guest journey across the Trough and Old Spot venues. You will guide service, train staff, and create a theatre of hospitality that delivers a genuine "surprise & delight" experience at every touchpoint.

You will manage service flow from booking to departure, ensuring allergen guidance, storytelling, and product provenance are delivered with precision.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Maître D', you will play a pivotal role in creating exceptional guest experiences, setting the tone for outstanding hospitality from the moment guests arrive. Leading and inspiring the front-of-house team, you will oversee every detail of the guest journey, ensuring seamless service and memorable dining experiences. You will take ownership of the Order of Service across the Trough and Old Spot, championing a culture of excellence and ensuring every team member is trained to deliver a genuine "surprise & delight" experience at every guest touchpoint.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• To own the delivery of the Daylesford Order of Service in the Trough & Legbar/Old Spot, ensuring every guest is blown away by our service with a focus on “surprise & delight”.
• Ensure every guest receives an incredible journey, including product recommendations, stories about Daylesford and the product provenance, accurate allergen guidance and thoughtful interactions.
• To manage the service flow: from the moment the customer books/arrives to the moment they leave, you are responsible for the delight, theatre and experience of the restaurant.
• Develop and deliver training on service standards, steps of service, menu knowledge, upselling skills and how to create memorable moments for our customers.
• Mentor staff daily, performing “train the trainer” style coaching to embed consistency and ownership across the team in service excellence.
• Conduct shift briefings, shadow service, share feedback, and champion continuous learning
• Opening and closing responsibilities for the site.
• Hosting for lunch and evening services, to ensure a consistent level across day & night with a focus on an elevated service style.
• Support in the safe running of the restaurant in line with store Health & Safety Compliance.
• Support in delivering against Food Safety Compliance.
• To act as a point of contact for Daylesford Stays and all VIP client visits.

SKILLS & EXPERTISE

• Previous experience in a hosting, reception, or guest-facing role within a hospitality environment
• Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service, ideally within a luxury or premium brand setting
• A warm, friendly, and enthusiastic personality with a genuine passion for creating memorable guest experiences
• Highly customer-focused, with a commitment to exceeding expectations
• Exceptional attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment
• A collaborative team player who thrives in a supportive and dynamic environment
• Confidence in coaching, mentoring, or training colleagues to deliver outstanding service
