Job summary

Bishopstrow Hotel & Spa in Warminster, England is seeking a Restaurant & Bar Supervisor with strong bar skills to lead service and mentor the team. You'll manage shifts, work behind the bar, and uphold high standards of drink presentation in a busy hotel setting.

We value hands-on leaders with cocktail and wine knowledge, a calm manner during peak times, and a desire to train others. Full-time role, 5 days over 7 with a competitive tronc on top.

Qualifications

• Strong bar experience required.
• Cocktail preparation and presentation skills.
• Good knowledge of wines, spirits and drinks service.
• Previous experience supervising or leading a shift.
• Ability to work across both restaurant and bar.
• Positive, hands-on approach to service.
• Remain calm during busy periods.
• Desire to learn, develop and progress within the team.

Responsibilities

• Lead restaurant and bar shifts, ensuring smooth service.
• Support the Restaurant & Bar Manager with day-to-day operations.
• Hands-on bar work: cocktails, wines, spirits, beers and more.
• Maintain high standards of drink preparation and presentation.
• Recommend drinks and guide guests through offerings.
• Train and develop the team to improve bar and service knowledge.
• Monitor stock, wastage, cleanliness and bar setup.
• Lead by example during peak services.
• Assist with inductions, training, rotas and team development.
• Respond confidently to guest requests and resolve issues.
• Share feedback and keep the team motivated.
• Bring ideas and experience to the team.

We’re looking for a Restaurant & Bar Supervisorto join the team at Bishopstrow – someone who can confidently lead a restaurant service, jump behind the bar when needed and help us create the kind of experience guests remember.

You might already be a Restaurant Supervisor, Bar Supervisor or experienced Bartender looking for your next step.

What matters most to us is that you’ve got good hands‑on bar experience, confidence with cocktails, wines and spirits, and the personality to lead a team.

What you'll be doing

As our Restaurant & Bar Supervisor, you'll be right at the heart of the action.

You'll:

• Lead restaurant and bar shifts, keeping service running smoothly
• Support our Restaurant & Bar Manager with the day-to-day running of the department
• Get hands‑on behind the bar – cocktails, wines, spirits, beers and everything in between
• Help maintain excellent standards of drink preparation and presentation
• Recommend drinks and confidently talk guests through our offering
• Support and train the team to improve their own bar and service knowledge
• Keep an eye on stock, wastage, cleanliness and bar setup
• Lead by example during busy services
• Help with inductions, training, rotas and team development
• Deal confidently with guest requests and resolve issues when they arise
• Share great feedback and keep the team motivated
• Bring your own ideas and experience – we genuinely want to hear them

What we’re looking for

You'll ideally have experience in a quality hotel, restaurant, cocktail bar or similar hospitality environment.

Most importantly, you'll have:

• Strong bar experience
• Confidence making cocktails
• Good knowledge of wines, spirits and drinks service
• Previous experience supervising or leading a shift
• Confidence working across both the restaurant and bar
• A positive, hands‑on approach
• The ability to stay calm when it gets busy
• A desire to learn, develop and progress
