Job summary

IKEA Nottingham is seeking enthusiastic Restaurant Assistants to join our IKEA Food team, supporting customers across tills, restaurant service and dishwashing while keeping a safe, tidy, welcoming environment. You will work in a fast-paced setting, 16 hours over weekends or 24 hours across 4 days plus 3 weekend shifts, with shifts from 8am to 10pm.

Applicants must be 18+ and committed to teamwork and safety.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work confidently in a fast-paced restaurant setting.
• Willingness to contribute to a tidy, safe and welcoming space.
• Reliable and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Comfort with cash handling and basic till duties.

Responsibilities

• Work on tills and support restaurant service to ensure smooth operation.
• Keep restaurant area clean, tidy and well stocked.
• Assist with dishwashing and maintain high hygiene standards.
• Provide a welcoming experience and help customers as needed.
• Follow safety guidelines and contribute to a safe environment.

IKEA Nottingham is on the lookout for enthusiastic Restaurant Assistants to join our vibrant and hardworking team.

Join our IKEA Food team, where you’ll support customers across a variety of tasks—from tills and restaurant service to dishwashing—while helping create a safe, tidy and welcoming environment. Working closely with your colleagues, you’ll deliver great experiences every day through teamwork, safety awareness and hands‑on, active work.

Due to health & Safety you must be 18 years or older for this position!

WHAT WE OFFER

• Start date of employment will be: 15th of November 2026
• Hourly rate of £13.45 per hour
• Weekend only, Saturday & Sunday.
• 16 hours weekly, working 4 days out of 7 weekly and 3 out of 4 weekends.
• 24 hours weekly, working 5 days out of 7 weekly and 3 out of 4 weekends.
• Working hours are beteen 8am to 10pm.
• We can discuss flexibility to match your life and our business needs during the interview.

• Ability to work in an extremely fast‑paced environment.
• Be self-reliant and motivated, ready to work independently and as part of our team.
• Ability to remain organised and detail‑orientated, even when things get busy.
• Compliance with health and safety guidelines.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

• The role will involve a variety of tasks, where you will be working to support the customers, including working on the tills, keeping the restaurant running smooth, keeping it tidy and also working in the dishwash area.
• Customer focused, by working together to create the best customer experience. Listen, act, and exceed their expectations every day.
• Ensure all safety protocols and regulations are followed for a secure environment for both our customers and co-workers.
