Job summary

Isle of Wight NHS Trust is seeking a Healthcare Science Assistant in Respiratory and Sleep to join the team across Respiratory Outpatients and the Community Diagnostic Hub. The role includes spirometry, sleep testing and data collection, with full training provided.

You will work in a friendly, flexible environment with 37.5 hours per week on a permanent contract, and support from experienced staff as part of #TeamIOWNHS.

Qualifications

• Experience in a healthcare environment with respiratory knowledge is desirable.
• Basic lung function and sleep diagnostic testing.
• Full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• To support the Clinical Physiologists in the delivery of agreed standards of care to all patients.
• Provide administrative support for the Clinical Physiologist.
• To support respiratory clinics in the need of spirometry and inhaler management, and supportsleep clinics including sleep studies and yearly CPAP clinics.
• To ensure that relationships and behaviour is managed in line with the Behaviour Framework competencies.
• The Respiratory Physiologist Assistant will work within the limits of their competence for respiratory testing including spirometry and sleep studies, providing support to the Clinical Respiratory/Sleep Physiologist.
