Job summary

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant to join the Community Respiratory Team. You will support high-quality respiratory care in community and outpatient settings, assisting with spirometry and diagnostic testing while maintaining accurate records.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, travel across community sites, and develop specialist respiratory skills through formal training and competency assessments.

Qualifications

• Experience or training in respiratory physiology measurement techniques.
• Ability to follow and adhere to departmental protocols and procedures.
• Healthcare experience with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of respiratory care across community and outpatient settings.
• Assist with spirometry and FeNO testing.
• Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation.
• Support patients to access respiratory assessment and treatment services.
• Assist with equipment checks, stock management and infection prevention measures.
• Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary respiratory team.
• Contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives and audits.
• Undertake specialist training and competency development in respiratory diagnostics.
