NHS Professionals is seeking a Respiratory Physiologist (Band 6) for Wythenshawe Hospital to work in the Lung Function ward under Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

The role involves performing complex diagnostic procedures including CPET, histamine challenge, sleep laboratory techniques, and oxygen assessment, with deputising duties as required. Weekly shifts and hospital-based work provide varied clinical exposure.

Formación

• BSc in Clinical Physiology required.
• Senior Physiologist experience preferred.
• Proven exposure to diagnostic test areas.

Responsabilidades

• Perform unsupervised complex procedures: histamine challenge and CPET.
• Assess long term oxygen needs and fitness to fly as required.
• Allergen skin prick testing and respiratory muscle assessment.
• Analyse and report CPET results.
• Sleep laboratory techniques on rotation and deputise for laboratory manager as needed.

Job Title: Respiratory Physiologist

Grade: Band 6

Trust: Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust

Location: Wythenshawe Hospital

Ward: Lung Function

Pay Rates: £20.15

Shift Patterns: 9am - 5pm or 8am - 4pm - Sunday cover is essential

What you can add:

• Perform unsupervised, the following complex procedures: Histamine challenge, cardiopulmonary exercise testing, respiratory muscle assessment, fitness to fly assessment, long term oxygen assessment and allergen skin prick testing.
• Perform, analyse and report highly complex procedures including cardiopulmonary exercise testing
• Perform unsupervised specialist techniques within the sleep laboratory whilst on rotation through the service where required.
• Deputise for laboratory manager as required to maintain appropriate functioning of the service.

What you'll need:

• Relevant clinical experience as a Senior Physiologist or equivalent
• BSc in Clinical Physiology
• Proven exposure to diagnostic test areas
