Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a Respiratory Physiologist to perform basic diagnostic lung function testing at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. The role includes reporting results, data collection for research, and participation in training and service development.

The post is fixed-term for 12 months, full-time (36 hours) with travel across GG&C sites. Prior NHS training and spirometry certification are expected, with full support provided for required qualifications.

Qualifications

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages (essential).
• A minimum of five standard grades, preferably including Science/Maths (essential).
• Previous experience in a health care setting (desirable).
• Full training for the scope of the role will be provided; NHS training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic diagnostic lung function testing (Spirometry, FeNO).
• Perform reversibility testing where required (nebulisers/MDI).
• Report basic lung function testing results.
• Collate data for ongoing research projects under guidance of senior staff.
• Attend in-house training programmes as required.
• Participate in research projects and developments linked to the service.
• Promote the service at clinical meetings, conferences and education days.
