Job summary

Trant Engineering Ltd is seeking a Labour Manager to lead resource planning and deployment on a major petrochemical refinery project in Southampton. The role focuses on mobilising people, plant and materials, maintaining productivity and safety in a live, high-hazard environment.

You will manage workforce planning, onboarding, subcontractor coordination and reporting, working with project teams to meet demanding schedules and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in construction resource planning or operations management.
• Experience in petrochemical/industrial sectors is preferred.
• Strong planning, organisation and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, mobilisation and allocation of construction resources across projects.
• Develop workforce plans to meet current and future demands.
• Coordinate onboarding, induction and deployment of personnel.
• Forecast labour requirements with project delivery teams and adapt to priorities.
• Monitor utilisation and productivity, driving efficiency improvements.
• Ensure personnel hold necessary competencies and site authorisations.
• Support recruitment and manage labour providers relationships.
• Produce resource reports, forecasts and workforce metrics for senior management.
• Promote a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with procedures and regulations.
• Engage with clients to understand requirements and drive productivity.
