LOCATION: Office based at Chapeltown, South Yorkshire

HOURS: 37.5 hrs per week, Monday to Friday

  • About the role

Hickton Quality Control is the UK’s largest provider of Clerk of Works services. Based within our Head Office in South Yorkshire, we require an ambitious and organised individual to manage all client enquiries and potential opportunities from inception to the contract renewal strategy stage.

We require a Resource Co-Ordinator to work closely with the BID team. You will be responsible for staffing resources to project.

We strongly believe in continuous development and will encourage the successful applicant to dedicate time to collate feedback and pro-actively use this information to create and implement improved strategy to maintain and boost our success rate.

The role will enable the successful applicant to be involved with many exciting, prestigious, large scale construction tenders and be part of a welcoming and professional team.

  • Roles and responsibilities
  • Resource Management
  • Allocate Clerk of Works to Projects
  • Take calls from CoW’s and Surveyors, address any concerns
  • Arrange 12-month defect inspections
  • Ensure sites are resourced with the right person at the right time
  • Understand each CoW’s and Surveyors strengths and weaknesses and match to clients’ needs
  • Escalate key issues and any poor performance
  • Comply with HR procedures, particularly regarding any disciplinary issues
  • Technical
  • Monitor Reports Received Schedule and chase up any non-submissions
  • Read Weekly Reports, comment and return as necessary
  • Ensure Weekly Reports comply with the Hickton Guidance Notes
  • Administration
  • Own the Allocation Schedule and update weekly
  • Add new projects and monitor / update start and completion dates
  • Monitor holidays and sickness and arrange cover as necessary
  • Keep Deltek up to date
  • Notify Management of any issues which may improve / revise the QA system
  • Update KPI’s on one drive
  • Commercial
  • Agree rates with Sub-Consultant Clerk of Works and Surveyors
  • Check PAYE Clerk of Works are fully engaged
  • Check timesheets and cross reference with Weekly Reports
  • Monitor actual and planned hour on each project. Take action as necessary
  • Recruitment
  • Update the Recruitment Plan in line with the Business Plan and workload
  • Identify the need for new Clerks in advance of changes in the workload and assisting in identifying candidates.
  • Assist Bid Team to allocate Clerks to tenders
