Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking a proactive Resilience Officer to join the Place Division. The role is full-time and permanent, based at Sandwell Council House, Oldbury, with hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 from home).

You will support emergency planning, resilience and business continuity across the Council and partners. The ideal candidate will hold a degree or equivalent experience in emergency planning or related fields, with strong communication and stakeholder

Formación

• Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and experience.
• Experience in emergency planning, resilience, business continuity, risk management or related field.
• Able to develop high-quality plans, procedures and briefing papers.
• Strong written, verbal and presentation skills with ability to communicate at all levels.
• Knowledge of civil contingencies legislation and emergency management principles.

Responsabilidades

• Develop, implement and maintain emergency planning, resilience and business continuity arrangements across the Council.
• Work with service areas to ensure robust plans are in place and regularly reviewed.
• Provide professional advice on emergency preparedness, risk management and incident response.
• Assist with the delivery of business impact assessments and identify critical service priorities.
• Organise, facilitate and evaluate exercises to test emergency and business continuity arrangements.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders, emergency services, partner organisations and other agencies.
• Prepare reports, briefings and presentations for senior leaders and governance forums.
• Support the Council's compliance with Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and related responsibilities.
• Take part in the emergency duty rota and provide out-of-hours support.
• Deputise for the Resilience Manager at meetings when required.
