Job description

Fulbridge Social Care is recruiting Experienced and Trainee Residential Youth Workers to join our casual team. The roles involve working in children’s residential homes and Independent Living settings. We seek flexible, reliable, and interactive individuals eager to work in a specialist environment where full training and qualifications are provided.

The position involves providing security, guidance, interaction, and support to young people with challenging behaviour and complex needs within residential or independent living settings. The goal is to create an environment catering to the young person’s intellectual, spiritual, social, and emotional needs.

You will work with young people aged 11 to 18 who are in the care system for various reasons, with diverse disorders, behaviours, and needs. Candidates should possess confidence, patience, and skills to work successfully with these young people and positively impact their lives.

Responsibilities include supporting young people throughout the day with tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, education, and shopping. You will also interact with professionals like Social Workers, Probation Officers, and Police Officers, and support young people in environments such as classrooms, courts, and police stations.

A valid driving license is essential, as you will need to drive the unit car and transport young people to destinations like family contacts, school, and social activities.

Applicants must complete an enhanced DBS check with Fulbridge Social Care and successfully finish one of our induction programs before placements are offered.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  1. Build strong professional relationships with service users and staff
  2. Maintain a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for young people and staff
  3. Keep all communication and information systems up to date
  4. Participate actively in meetings
  5. Support young people in managing their behaviour using approved skills
  6. Promote equality and acknowledge individual differences
  7. Protect service users from abuse
  8. Write accurate reports and keep records for monitoring
  9. Attend all training and achieve relevant qualifications
  10. Work reliably and punctually following a set shift pattern
  11. Stay updated on procedures and policy changes
  12. Ensure health and safety for yourself and others
  13. Undertake additional relevant duties as needed
