Job summary

Ministry of Justice in Nottingham is seeking a Band 3 Residential Support Worker to provide 24-hour cover at an Approved Premises, including security and monitoring services for people on probation resident at the AP. You will assist with risk management, contribute to sentence plan objectives, and report significant changes to the Offender Manager.

The role involves out-of-hours work and potential duty across APs.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to effective team practice and communicate with colleagues to ensure consistent work.
• Communicate key risk issues at handover and with partner agencies as needed.
• Regularly inspect the AP building, grounds and CCTV; record issues.
• Maintain an active AP presence; engage residents pro-socially to support wellbeing.
• Monitor high-risk residents and manage abusive or aggressive behaviour.
• Contribute to residents' risk management plans and report changes to the Offender Manager.
• Deliver sentence plan objectives through purposeful activities agreed with managers.
• Ensure AP is secured during curfew; monitor residents overnight.
• Support safe working environment with SSOW, risk assessments and incident reporting.
