Job summary

ABC Children's Services seeks a dedicated Support Worker to provide safe, nurturing care for children in a residential setting and in the community. You will build trusting relationships, follow therapeutic plans and maintain accurate records to support each child's progress.

The role requires applying trauma-informed approaches, responding to safeguarding concerns, assisting with daily routines, education and development activities, and contributing to care planning and team handovers.

Qualifications

• Child-centred, dependable and respectful, with ability to maintain boundaries and reflect on practice.
• Ability to recognise safeguarding concerns, take protective action and report promptly.
• Ability to build relationships, support daily living and adapt communication to children's needs.
• Clear spoken and written communication, accurate recording and use of approved digital systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, nurturing care for children living in the home and in the community.
• Build trusting relationships and support emotional and practical needs per each child's plans.
• Apply trauma-informed, attachment-aware approaches and record progress.
• Respond to safeguarding concerns promptly and follow procedures.
• Support daily routines, education attendance and development activities.
• Maintain accurate records, participate in care planning and reviews.
