Job summary

Resicare Alliance Ltd is seeking a Residential Support Worker to support children with complex needs, helping them build resilience and achieve their potential.

You will work full-time (40 hours) with shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins, and you will be supported to pursue the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare within two years as part of ongoing professional development and safeguarding responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Essential for Residential Support Worker: motivation to work with children and make a positive difference.
• Willingness to work towards the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare within two years.
• Ability to build appropriate relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Emotional resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Willingness to work flexibly, including shifts, weekends and sleep-ins.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• An enhanced DBS check valid for working with children (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Providing high-quality, child-centred care that promotes safety, stability and wellbeing.
• Building positive, trusting relationships with children while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Supporting children with daily routines, education, activities, health appointments and life skills.
• Following care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support strategies. Acting as a key worker for allocated children, taking responsibility for care planning and outcomes.
• Maintaining accurate, timely records and contributing to reviews.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues, and leading shifts when required.
• Engaging respectfully with families, social workers and other professionals.
• Working towards your Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (if not already achieved).
