Job summary

The Cambian Group Plc is seeking dedicated Residential Support Workers to join our Children’s Services. You will provide high-quality care, support and guidance to children and young people, helping them lead positive, fulfilling lives while working within individual care plans and safeguarding protocols.

Qualifications

• Passion for working with children and young people.
• Experience in residential care or similar field is desirable.
• Understanding of child development and ability to support emotional, behavioural, and social challenges.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends and sleep-in shifts.

Responsibilities

• Support children and young people with daily living activities, including personal care, education and recreation.
• Encourage and promote positive behaviour, offering emotional and practical support to build self-esteem and confidence.
• Develop and maintain trusting, professional relationships with children and young people, providing consistency and stability.
• Implement care plans and ensure children’s needs are met in line with their individual requirements.
• Safeguard and report concerns promptly in accordance with safeguarding procedures.
• Support children in developing life skills, such as communication, socialisation and independence.
• Provide a safe, welcoming and structured environment that encourages growth and development.
• Assist with preparation and participation in regular reviews, contributing to the child’s progress and goals.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with regulatory and organisational standards.
