Job summary

Cambian Group plc is seeking a Residential Support Worker to help children and young people lead fulfilling lives in our residential services. You will provide high‑quality care, support and guidance, ensuring safety and wellbeing, and you will work with a multi‑disciplinary team to implement individualised care plans that support development, emotional needs and educational goals.

We value compassion, reliability and flexibility, with shifts including evenings, weekends and sleep‑in duties.

Qualifications

• A genuine passion for working with children and young people.
• Experience in residential care or similar field is desirable.
• Understanding of child development and supporting emotional/behavioural challenges.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Support children and young people with daily living activities, including personal care, education, and recreation.
• Encourage and promote positive behaviour, offering emotional and practical support to build self-esteem and confidence.
• Develop and maintain trusting, professional relationships with children and young people, providing consistency and stability.
• Implement care plans and ensure children’s needs are met in line with individual requirements.
• Safeguard and protect children, reporting concerns promptly per safeguarding procedures.
• Support children in developing life skills, such as communication, socialisation and independence.
• Provide a safe, welcoming, and structured environment that encourages growth and development.
• Assist with preparation and participation in regular reviews, contributing to progress and goals.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with standards.
